REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The MAR Research Committee is pleased to announce an MAR member program for those seeking funding for research and special projects.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Program is to provide financial assistance to members of the MAR who wish to pursue a research study or a special project consistent with the mission and goals of the MAR.  One award of up to $1,000.00 will be announced at the annual MAR Regional Conference, March, 2010.

DEFINITIONS

For research studies, outcomes are to further clinical, professional or disciplinary understanding in response to initial, presenting conditions. Quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies are to be used according to the research question(s) posed.

For special projects, outcomes may include (but are not limited to) material products, publications, model demonstration of practice, and education/training activities of potential benefit to the membership beyond the period of funding.

PRIORITIES

Priority will be given to those applications that:

1) address needs in relation to the MAR Mission and Goals
2) can reasonably be completed within a twelve month period
3) include methodology that is presented in a clear and systematic fashion.

DEADLINE

Completed applications must be postmarked Friday, February 5, 2010
